Fast Five Friday: Comfort Foods

Image
This blog hop is the brainchild of Dani and Jax over at  Cover Girls  and it's quickly become one of my favourites.  It's fast, in list format and I can participate as much or as little as I want. Which is cool, because sometimes life gets busy. Today's topic (which I am catching up on) is comfort foods.  I am big on eating when I am upset, that and cleaning so I have a fairly extensive list of comfort foods but I cut it down to my top five favourites. Homemade Soup - it doesn't really matter what kind but my favouritest is Turkey and Rice. Ginger cookies Spanish Rice - just like my grandmother used to make. Pretzels - I just love salt sometimes. Smarties FAST FIVE FRIDAY TOPICS: May May 1:  5 comfort foods May 8:  5 sidekick fictional book characters you adore May 15:  5 favorite quotes from a book May 22:  5 things on your bucket list May 29:  5 childhood cartoons June June 5:  5 books you couldn't put down June 12:  5 cancelled/retired

Currently.... {I read  Jamie Morrow's  Currently every week and I always want to hop on board because it seems like such a fun way to keep you guys updated on the stuff going on in my life so here I am.} Loving... That my kids are happy with their new school, nothing worried me more about moving than the kids not adjusting well to a different school. Reading... Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep, I received this book as part of a YA swap and so far I am really loving it.  Sadly with all the boxes left to unpack my reading time is limited right now. Watching... When we moved I also cut the cable as I was paying a small fortune but never home to watch anything so now I am catching up on shows via Netflix and Shomi. Right now I am watching Royal Pains on Shomi, the first time I watched it I missed a whole bunch of episodes so I am really loving it right now. Listening To... Right now I am all about Audible, I find something very something about being read to

100 Days of Being Geek Chic and Healthy: Day 5

Image
Day 5: What do hope to learn from this project? The biggest thing I hope to learn from this project is being comfortable in my own skin.  I am well into adulthood and it's only now that I find I am finding friends who accept me and the things I like the way they are. Also I want to work on the whole process of blogging through a challenge and answering questions about myself as that is not something I am very good at. I am way, way behind on this but moving really threw me off kilter.  The time for catching up on my blogging is now.  Check out the  Google Community  for more on 100 Days of Being Geek Chic and Healthy.

Today's List: September 13, 2015

My All-Star Authors List: Melanie Rawn - she writes three of my favourite series which contain many, many of my favourite characters Terry Prachett - Discworld is one of my favourite series and he wrote DEATH better than anyone. Neil Gaimen - Such a wide range of writing. Stephen King - so many fantastic stories Terry Goodkind - some of my favourite characters in any books I have ever read, so real and so flawed Christopher Stasheff - one of my favourite fantasy authors, perfectly balanced with all my favourite "happy fantasy" ingredients

Celebrate the Small Things is hosted by  Lexa Cain  along with wonderful co- hosts  Writing Off The Edge  and  The Cyborg Mom . This week I am celebrating the kids going back to school and loving their new school.  I couldn't ask for them to be happier. What are you celebrating this week?

Celebrate The Small Things: September 4, 2015

Image
Celebrate the Small Things is hosted by  Lexa Cain  along with wonderful co- hosts  Writing Off The Edge  and  The Cyborg Mom . Looking into the last weekend of summer it's hard to find things to celebrate, the kids are all ready for school on Tuesday but we are still facing more boxes to unpack than ones that have been unpacked. :( Fan Expo is this weekend and due to time just not being on my side we had to switch up costumes last minute.  Which at any other time would have been easy...with everything mostly still not unpacked it was interesting.  I have pieces to 7 or 8 different cosplays but only can come up with 1 complete one other than my originally planned ones.  At least that doesn't involve full, heavy make up. What are you celebrating? Are your kids already back to school or like Cat and Ace are they enjoying one last weekend of freedom?
