Birthdays, A to Z Challenge and Other Things

Image
Here we are at the end of March and I am not sure how we got here so fast.  It feels like this year so far has flown by and I don't know what I have done with my time at all in the last three months. Scary, scary. Tomorrow is a very important day, it is both the start of the A to Z Challenge and my 35th birthday.  I am probably more excited about the challenge this year than my birthday as I decided to read a book and review it for ever letter of the alphabet.  I am not quite done yet but well over half my posts are finished and scheduled which is the best position I have ever been in at this point in the challenge so I look forward to getting to relax and read lots of other blogs this year. My birthday I have mixed emotions about, I am not ready to turn 35, there are things I wanted to have done by now that I have not and I am really not okay with that.  There's been a whole lot of what am I doing with my life going on in the last few days.  The last year has been a rough

L’Oréal Paris Hydra-Total 5 Ultra-Even Vox Box

I got picked to participate in the L'Oreal Paris Hydra-Total 5 Vox Box.  #5Works  #BeyondHydration I was super excited because I haven't done a Vox Box in a while. Now prior to this Vox Box my skin care routine was pretty simple, I washed my face twice a day, taking extra care at night if I was wearing make up that day and slapped on some lotion if it was feeling dry or tight afterwords.  Now that I have been consistently doing something more for several weeks I can really feel the difference that it makes. Step One: Exfoliate! The Ultra Even Exfoliating face scrub has a fantastic scent and feel to it.  I love how it lathers up and I felt great washing my face with it twice a day. Ultra Even Toner is something I never knew that I couldn't live without.  After I am done washing my face, I grab a round and use it to run the toner over my face.  I feel like it removes so much more guck and grime than washing alone.  I love it! For some reason, I have neve

A Day At The ROM

Image
Sadly it feels like it's been forever since I've done a blog post about a day out with the kids.  It's not that we don't do the days out, it's mostly that I don't take pictures as I haven't been able to find my camera since we moved and my phone was sketchy at best.  I have replaced my phone and the new one has a fantastic camera so look out for lots more fun posts! On Saturday the kids and I went to the ROM to spend the day seeing if they could soak up any knowledge.  Cat was excited to go see the dinosaur bones and Ace wanted to check out the mummies. Me, I wanted to check out the Mexican textiles exhibit. Ace didn't want to join in our pre-museum selfie, he's too cool to take pictures with his family. He did pose with his sister behind this old door frame though. Dinosaur bones and the kids checking them out. Our Egyptian detour, how cool is that step pyramid?  I just read a bunch of books about ancient Egyp

Celebrate The Small Things: March 4, 2016

Celebrate the Small Things is hosted by  Lexa Cain  along with wonderful co- hosts  Writing Off The Edge  and  The Cyborg Mom . This week I am celebrating making it through a week that was littered with migraines.  This snowy weather that mother nature treated up with this week has had me laid up in misery.  Thankfully Ace makes an excellent nurse.  Hopefully everyone else enjoyed a better week. What are you celebrating this week?
