Currently....

I was reading Jamie Morrow's Currently every week and I always wanted to hop on board because it seemed like such a fun way to keep you guys updated on the stuff going on in my life so here I am.

Loving...

A friend braided my hair for me a couple of weeks ago and I am loving not having to deal with what to do with it every day.  I am going to be so sad when I take it out.



Reading...

I have been reading Cidney Swanson's Ripple Series.  I really liked it in the beginning and then I didn't and no I am not sure but I can't stop reading because I need to know where she is going with what she has done with the story.

Watching...

I FINALLY watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two.  I never wanted to watch the last movie because the second last one was so sad that I just couldn't bring up my courage. (so pathetic, I have read the book at least 15 times) 

Listening To...

Still listening to A Game of Thrones, but I am going to put it on hold to start Lifedebt today.  Because Star Wars.

Thinking About...

Whether or not I am actually going to go to Fan Expo this year... I have not bought tickets yet and I am thinking about just skipping the crowds and pouring my energy into Hamilton ComiCon.  Except for all the fabulous people that I want to see there...

Anticipating...

Fall, I am not complaining about the massive heat waves that we have been having but I really want to be able to wear boots and jackets again.  And you know, leave the house after I take a shower without instantly needing another shower.

Wishing... 

For a fresh start to the school year for both of my little monkeys.

Making Me Happy...

Cat seems to be enjoying karate class so far and I think that will be good for her.

    I love your hair. My friend once braided mine for me (tying off the ends with my elastics from my braces, hehe). I loved it.

    And I'm impressed at you not watching the last Harry Potter movie before now. Hope you enjoyed it.

Making Mac and Cheese

One of my favorite vegetables is butternut squash so when Chatelaine  posted this yummy looking recipe  for mac and cheese brimming with squash I immediately pinned it to make at a later time.  Now, before Pinterest  I am willing to admit, recipes got saved in my e-mail, but they never got made.  They just got lost in the shuffle; now they get neatly organized and displayed where I can go through them on a regular basis.  More importantly than that I can try them.   This recipe worked out well for me, I thought the cheese and squash tasted great together, the kids however did not agree.  They like their squash on the side, where they can control how much they ingest.  Next time I will definitely use less breadcrumbs though.

Spooktacular Giveaway Hop

When I was much younger than I am now, I loved nothing more that a good "spooky" story.  I spent many nights laying up in bed reading books that were designed to make your skin crawl and leave you with goose bumps. My personal favourite author for Young Adult Thrillers was and probably still is Christopher Pike.  Twenty years after reading his books some of them still stand out in my mind in perfect clarity.  The top one would be Remember Me. Something about Shari's story struck a chord with me that has echoed through the last twenty years, as any good book should I suppose. Sadly when I was a teenager I didn't hold on to as many books as I do now so I spend a lot of time hunting to replace the ones I really wish I had kept. (Sweet Valley High anyone?)
