Photo Challenge Week Six: February 5th to February 11

Image
So here we are at the end of week six already...that means to date I have intentionally taken for this challenge 42 pictures.  That's pretty insane, and also the longest I have ever stuck with a photo challenge. YAY ME!!! February 5, 2014: The view from my doorway. February 6, 2014: Present ideas for Miss Cat. February 7, 2014: Dinosaur Valentine in the making. February 8, 2014: My loot from the Iggles Valentines's day swap. February 9, 2014: Computer problems. February 10, 2013: Scented cupcake valentine. February 11, 2014: Motivational mints. That was my week's worth of photos.  I know I am a touch behind on posting my pictures but I have found it easy to keep up on taking them.  Even if that means getting up last minute to take a picture of something random because I am sick and just realized I forgot like last night. The prompts for week seven are:

Evie The Crayon Creator Blog Tour

Image
Evie is 5 years old and has a dream of going to Disneyworld. When begging and pleading didn’t work Evie started on a new plan to make her dream come true… she started a business! Now she is saving her money while making crayons and selling them on Etsy! From Evie:   The first crayons I made were just a homework project with my mom. I wanted a dino birthday party and my mom said she would help me make decorations. We made dino art to put up on the walls, dino invitations and dino favors. The favors were little dinosaur crayons that my mom helped me poor into a mold. After the birthday party some of my friends wanted more. So we made more... and more... and more... and then my mom helped me put them with dinosaur books in my grandpa's shop. I sold so many that I went to the store with my mom and bought new shapes to make and we ordered molds for those shapes too.  Now I sale them on my mom's site (Etsy store) that we share. Now my mom helps me cut the papers and I tak...

Photo Challenge Week Four: January 22 to January 28

I am really enjoy the photo a day challenge so far, it's making me look at things a lot more.  I try to take a couple pictures a day now so I have something where as before I would just snap pictures of stuff I found interesting which would just live on my phone or camera with no purpose.  Till they ended up on my computer with no purpose. Now I have some awesome pictures and many, many ideas for the blog.  Maybe I could actually blog about the crafting I do since I am remembering to take pictures of it as I go no.  I could do a feature of the kids art work every month, I could blog about some of the interesting family stuff we do.  It goes on and on and all stemming from pictures.  Anyhow...on to the pictures. January 22, 2014: Those are our tickets to Toronto Comicon, March 7 to 9.  They are currently living on my fridge as a constant reminder that I haven't started my cosplay yet... January 23, 2014: The phone case I bought off Ebay ...

Photo Challenge Week Three: January 15th to 21st

This week I wondered away from the topics and just took pictures as I realized since I have my set my phone to auto back up when I go into my house I take a lot of pictures in the course of a day.  So I set my sights on picking my favourite one of the day, some of which did revolve around the themes.   January 15, 2014: A plate of shortbread cookies.  Dessert was the theme and funny story, I actually broke a plate trying to get this picture. January 16, 2014: The set up at Cat's daycare which reminded me of a dog show. January 17, 2014: I was messing around with the settings on my phone to take an "appropriate" picture of my TARDIS mug I got for Christmas. January 18, 2014:  Doodle I drew at work. January 19, 2014: The birthday boy watching monster trucks. January 20, 2014: This is what one of our computers said when I came into the office on Monday, super happy fun times! January 21, 2014: The plant on my desk at work...

Ace's Ninth Birthday

Image
Every year that my son gets older I feel differently, but this year hits me hard.  It marks his last year in single digits, a sign that he is really beginning to grow up.  That's hard for me because I would like very much to keep him little forever, and not just because of the fact that each year older for him means another year older for me. With as fast as it seems as kids are growing up these days it feels that this year is the last year he will really be a little boy.  Then we enter the murky waters of preteenhood and all the problems that my bring.  (and we have already had our fair share) I remember when he was first born, tiny and sweet smelling.  His scrunched up little face and so much hair.  Such a happy, calm little baby he was.  Now he is growing into a boy I am proud of thought, kind and well mannered.  Even if he is a little Minecraft obsessed.  I look forward to spending the next year with him seeing th...
