Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder Review

A few months ago I went to a company meet and greet for one of my favourite cosmetic companies, coffee in hand as always...even though it was seven in the evening.  During the course of the evening and talking to people it was discussed how coffee has become a bit of a crutch for me at this point in my life trying to keep up with work, kids, housework, friends etc.  I won't tell you how many coffees I was knocking back in an average day but let's just say it wasn't a healthy number.

One of the woman there suggested I try substituting some of my coffee for Matcha, she said it would give me more energy and be much healthier for me.  At the time I didn't know a whole late about it other than it was an option at the smoothie place.  Oh how I have learned.

I got the opportunity to try out this Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder from Kiss Me Organics and I was excited to give it a go and try to kick my excessive coffee habit.

My original plan was to replace the coffee I was having in the evening with a Matcha and cut down my coffee consumption and just go about my business.  You know what though?  This stuff is pretty awesome.  It comes with a handy recipe book that gives you all sorts of other great ideas.  (Ace thinks I should bake cookies, but I have been too bogged down with work to try it out)

What I have started doing though is making Matcha, blueberry, banana, yogurt smoothies in the morning for breakfast.  So delicious and now I am finding that I don't really feel the same pull for coffee ALL THE TIME that I did before.  My other new favourite thing is to throw a spoonful of Matcha in my with my Shakology before I workout.  Talk about energy boost.

I definitely have more energy than I did a few weeks ago before I added Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder into my life and more energy is never a bad thing.  So I did a little research into what the other benefits of matcha green tea are there are more than a few so I will only list my two favourites other than the increased energy.

It enhances calm.  As you may or may not know, I am not queen of the zen, matcha green tea powder though contains amino acids that help produce alpha brain waves in the brain that promote relaxation.

It fortifies the immune system.  After my nasty battle with the cold that wouldn't go away and multiple trips to the doctor, chest x-rays, my asthma rearing it's ugly head again etc. I love, love, love anything that gives me the advantage of an immune system boost.  Studies suggest that drinking matcha green tea on a regular basis promotes overall health.

Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder is so delicious though that just having a nice hot cup of it a night, sitting down with a book or my crafts is nice too.  Which is good because we all know I need lots of energy for that pre-Christmas craft rush.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Oh Melissa Ann - this may be just the thing for me. Fibromyalgia taxes the energy level - (what energy level?) and so I'm going to give this whirl. Thanks for trying it out and letting us know. (Us? Well - me!) Thanks for the freebie link!

  2. This was a recommendation that I will follow. I'm a bit of a coffee cripple, too.
