Currently....

{I read Jamie Morrow's Currently every week and I always want to hop on board because it seems like such a fun way to keep you guys updated on the stuff going on in my life so here I am.}

Snow, it actually snowed here this morning.  There's none that stuck around on the ground but it is a start.

Reading...

I found the Vampire Academy books when our local thrift store was having a sale and I plowed through the first three over the weekend.  They are fantastic.  Can't say I want to watch the movie but I highly recommend the books.



Watching...

Attempting to finish off this season of Doctor Who before the Christmas special, if only work didn't get in the way.

Listening To...

Zombie Run at the gym.

Thinking About...

How we are going to get through Christmas dinner when 1/4 of our house is still not unpacked thanks to how rough the last few months have been.

Anticipating...

Getting all the boxes unpacked and sorted out.

Wishing... 

For a white Christmas.



Making Me Happy...

We bought a desk, one step closer to an organized house.

    We moved in May and I still remember how unsettling it was. So glad to be unpacked and moved in! After you move, you always say, "I'm never going to move again" then five or ten years down the road, you forget what a pain it was and decide to move again!

One of my favorite vegetables is butternut squash so when Chatelaine  posted this yummy looking recipe  for mac and cheese brimming with squash I immediately pinned it to make at a later time.  Now, before Pinterest  I am willing to admit, recipes got saved in my e-mail, but they never got made.  They just got lost in the shuffle; now they get neatly organized and displayed where I can go through them on a regular basis.  More importantly than that I can try them.   This recipe worked out well for me, I thought the cheese and squash tasted great together, the kids however did not agree.  They like their squash on the side, where they can control how much they ingest.  Next time I will definitely use less breadcrumbs though.

Spooktacular Giveaway Hop

When I was much younger than I am now, I loved nothing more that a good "spooky" story.  I spent many nights laying up in bed reading books that were designed to make your skin crawl and leave you with goose bumps. My personal favourite author for Young Adult Thrillers was and probably still is Christopher Pike.  Twenty years after reading his books some of them still stand out in my mind in perfect clarity.  The top one would be Remember Me. Something about Shari's story struck a chord with me that has echoed through the last twenty years, as any good book should I suppose. Sadly when I was a teenager I didn't hold on to as many books as I do now so I spend a lot of time hunting to replace the ones I really wish I had kept. (Sweet Valley High anyone?)
