A to Z Challenge 2017: D
So for D I found a fabulous cozy mystery series by Angela Pepper. I don't know why I don't read more cozy mysteries, they are fantastic. I just don't think about it you know. I hope I remember to read the next one in this series when it comes out. Stormy Day and Jeffery Blue are my new heros.
“A great cozy murder mystery with clever clues, plus plenty of fun characters to make you smile!”
First book in a new series!
Gift shop owner Stormy Day is settling into her new life until she comes across a frozen body, hidden inside a well-dressed snowman.
When her own father is implicated in the murder, Stormy must chase down clues and uncover the town's secrets herself.
As she draws closer to identifying the killer, Stormy's own life may be in danger. That is unless Jeffrey, the mischievous Russian Blue cat who led her to the icy body in the first place, can flick his sleek gray tail at the final piece in the puzzle.
When I first started reading this book I found the names and narrative a little jarring because it is not like the stuff I normally read. I quickly got over that though and started to really enjoy the book. Misty Falls grows on you really fast.
After solving a murder, gift shop owner Stormy Day is famous in Misty Falls. Unfortunately, she's still dateless.
When she lets a mysterious fortune teller offer romance advice, Stormy is drawn into a world of deception. When a body shows up, more secrets and lies follow, confounding the investigation.
Even Jeffrey, the mischievous Russian Blue cat, seems puzzled by the Death of the Crafty Knitter. As Stormy races to find the killer, the danger escalates, bringing the amateur sleuth and the cold-blooded killer face-to-face for a startling climax.
Another exciting mystery, which introduced more exciting characters. This town is so fabulous.
Stormy Day is making a name for herself in Misty Falls as a private investigator.
When her ex-fiance suddenly shows up in town, he begs for one last chance. He invites Stormy and Jessica to a luxury three-day vacation at a nearby mountain resort.
Stormy agrees, thinking what's the worst that could happen? The resort owner is a world-famous pastry chef, so the biggest danger should be calories.
Up at the Flying Squirrel Lodge, everyone's having a grand time until one of the guests goes missing under mysterious circumstances.
Now Stormy and Jessica are trapped, miles from home, with a killer... and way too much killer cheesecake. The girls must use their wits to solve the crime before time runs out and the murderer comes after them.
This one had some really fun scenes in it. Things get really crazy up at that resort. Plus you get some fun random stuff thrown in. I really enjoyed it.
"A laugh-out-loud humorous cozy mystery with a charming detective and a page-turning 'whodunit' that'll keep you guessing right to the end!"
Book 4: A suspicious death at the Koenig Estate has everyone talking. Stormy Day was there when it happened, and she alone holds the key to solving the mystery.
With a little help from her friends, including those on the police force, everyone's favorite small-town sleuth, Stormy Day, won't stop until justice is served.
The town might even need to name a new beverage after her!
So much drama in this one...a real page turner.
These books were a hoot, if you love cozy mysteries check them out and even if you don't maybe you will afterwards.
I haven't read any of these, but anything related to a knitter would interest me.

I haven't read any cosy mysteries, although I've written a fair few as a ghost writer. I prefer a bit of gore in my reading haha

ReplyDeleteI've been reading many different genres but I haven't read too many cozy mysteries. These sound like fun.
