My Favourite.....Music Growing Up



My Favorite.. is a weekly meme hosted by Maureen’s Books. In this meme we share every week something we love with each other. Because let’s face it.. The world can be a dark place and it’s time to share something positive. For more info: My Favorite Meme.

 Music is a great passion of mine, I love to listen to it and I enjoy many varied forms.  When I was younger I did not have a lot of exposure to it though, only what my parents listen to as we did not have all these fancy devices that my kids have today.

 I remember having a variety show of sorts in Grade One and we did a cover of this song which was my favourite at the time.

    I love classic rock. It is by far my favorite music genre. I was introduced to it at a very young age as I shared a room with my older sister. Today is her birthday. She would have been 63, but I lost her to cancer 21 years ago. Her taste in music still influences me to this day.

    Awesome! I love this kind of music! I love 'God Only Knows' by the Beach Boys!!
    My favorite music was from The Backstreet Boys! I was a total groupie!! LOL.

    I love all sorts of music. I grew up listening to Status Quo so that has a special place in my heart, but then in my teens it was all about Steps, hehe.

    Awesome! I mostly listened to the Pop songs on TV and radio in 90's. I had a few CDs but was always out of batteries for my disk-man. I remember back then boy bands were pretty big deal.
    Enjoyed reading your post, bought back nostalgia of growing up :)

    One of my strongest memories of elementary school was our talent show in sixth grade. The guy I had a crush on and three of his friends sang "Elvira." My crush turned out to be gay--I guess my gay-dar wasn't so strong at 12!

Spooktacular Giveaway Hop

When I was much younger than I am now, I loved nothing more that a good "spooky" story.  I spent many nights laying up in bed reading books that were designed to make your skin crawl and leave you with goose bumps. My personal favourite author for Young Adult Thrillers was and probably still is Christopher Pike.  Twenty years after reading his books some of them still stand out in my mind in perfect clarity.  The top one would be Remember Me. Something about Shari's story struck a chord with me that has echoed through the last twenty years, as any good book should I suppose. Sadly when I was a teenager I didn't hold on to as many books as I do now so I spend a lot of time hunting to replace the ones I really wish I had kept. (Sweet Valley High anyone?) A to Z Challenge 2017: Theme Reveal

Not that long ago I was in a huge panic, I had a theme for the challenge this year but I had done none of the work and only had one post written and scheduled.  I blame my son who gave me the flu and then took off on a March Break adventure.  Leaving me to fend for myself sick.  (was not pretty) Flash forward a few days though and I was feeling better but still pretty tired so I spent a whole night in bed reading which gave me a huge bump forward so I decided to keep my theme sort of.  It was going to be me reading through a series for every letter of the alphabet and reviewing each book. Instead I just went with what came up again, some are a single book, some are multiple books, some are novellas.  All are off the jungle that is my kindle.  Man that thing is too full of books, I could read two a day for the next ten years and not be through it.  Yet I keep adding more....I have a problem.
