New Doctor Who Series 7 Trailer: Warning This Way Be Spoilers

If you are a Doctor Who fan then you know that the new Series 7 Trailer launched this morning.  Now, anything I have to say about this can only be considered a spoiler if you (like my son, who wants to be surprised) have not (will not) watched said trailer.  With that being said I recommend that you not read any further or do so at your own risk. 


So, I have not been highly anticipating Series 7, even though 90% of my favorite Doctor Who episodes have been Moffat episodes since he took over the helm I just haven't felt it.  It took all over Series 5 for me to warm up to Eleven.  (like until the Christmas Special and then I had to watch it all over again with a better attitude) 

Still, I watched this trailer this morning right away (well as soon as I dropped the kids off as Ace did not want to be involved) and let me tell you it did what any good trailer does.  I AM NOW DYING FOR  SERIES 7 TO START!

Why you ask?  First of all dinosaurs on a spaceship, um awesome.  Then, is that a Triceratops?  Yes, yes it is!  Who killed all the Daleks?  Who do you think?  I love when Eleven gets all bad ass like, it makes me almost love him.  (he has his moments)

Seriously, they were riding a flipping Triceratops!  I am actually excited to see this, not buying new shoes excited but still pretty damn excited.  I am thinking I might have to have to hold a little season premiere party or something.  (no comments on that one, you know who you are)  I found an awesome Dalek cake tutorial I want to try out and what better excuse?

Making Mac and Cheese

One of my favorite vegetables is butternut squash so when Chatelaine  posted this yummy looking recipe  for mac and cheese brimming with squash I immediately pinned it to make at a later time.  Now, before Pinterest  I am willing to admit, recipes got saved in my e-mail, but they never got made.  They just got lost in the shuffle; now they get neatly organized and displayed where I can go through them on a regular basis.  More importantly than that I can try them.   This recipe worked out well for me, I thought the cheese and squash tasted great together, the kids however did not agree.  They like their squash on the side, where they can control how much they ingest.  Next time I will definitely use less breadcrumbs though.

Spooktacular Giveaway Hop

When I was much younger than I am now, I loved nothing more that a good "spooky" story.  I spent many nights laying up in bed reading books that were designed to make your skin crawl and leave you with goose bumps. My personal favourite author for Young Adult Thrillers was and probably still is Christopher Pike.  Twenty years after reading his books some of them still stand out in my mind in perfect clarity.  The top one would be Remember Me. Something about Shari's story struck a chord with me that has echoed through the last twenty years, as any good book should I suppose. Sadly when I was a teenager I didn't hold on to as many books as I do now so I spend a lot of time hunting to replace the ones I really wish I had kept. (Sweet Valley High anyone?) Blood, Boobs & Carnage Blogfest

The long weekend caught me a little unprepared today and I forgot that I had scheduled this on so that I would remember to write it, a trick that usually works.  Except that for some reason I thought that the 18th was Tuesday.  :( I did not watch Shoot 'Em Up when it first came out because despite having a passion for these types of movies it looked a little on the ridiculous side.  But somehow it ended up in my dvd collection and I ended up home with a newborn baby unable to sleep EVER. Turned out one colicky baby loved watching (listening to?) violent movies and Shoot 'Em Up quickly became our movie of choice.  At 3am that opening scene is just really awesome. I can't say I have watched it too many times since Cat outgrew her colic but it's on my list of favourite movies in this category for sure.
