Reflections From A to Z

Another challenge has come to a close and I feel a whole year wiser this year. Having a set theme and something to write every day definitely kept me on track.  I already have ideas for next years theme.

I was much better about visiting other blogs but not so much about commenting still, I am bad at that. I just have no idea what to say, I am still just as awkward online as I am in real life. So I get to spend the next few month working on how to comment and reply to comments.  I can do this.

Please make sure to go and check out the reflection posts of other bloggers that participated this year here.  After all a huge part of the A to Z is getting out and making new bloggy friends.

  1. Your A-to-Z was awesome, Melissa - how to I make an emoticon that means "patting you on the back" now...I need that info. :-)

  2. A big hint on commenting, just say something you'd like to hear about a similar post! Or imagine you are replying to something a friend has just told you. To me, making it personal helps me come up with a comment that is more than just "nice post".

  3. I'm not that good about commenting either. But it's not something you can figure out quickly.

  4. I enjoyed your posts because I'm a bit of a linguistics geek. I agree that it helps to have a theme.

I try to comment on something that I liked, didn't know before I read the post, or something I know that is similar to what they've posted about. Just a simple 'I didn't know that' or 'I found this post interesting' is a good place to start. :-)

  5. I am visiting you today on the A to Z Road trip. It was hard for me to start commenting on blogs when I first started blogging. Now I try to say something about what I read each time I stop by. I had lots of page visits but not nearly that many making comments during the challenge

  6. Visiting from A/Z Road trip. I didn't have a chance to visit your blog during the challenge. Good for you for to make an attempt to leave comments. I found the best thing to do is just to comment on something they wrote about in their post and if it is the first time I'm visiting their blog, I let them know that in my comment. It gets easier with time :)

  7. Loving your theme :) I think it's really interesting seeing what everyone chose for their themes! What a great way to incorporate learning something new with your blog. Congratulations on finishing!

  8. Hello there.
    Congratulations on completing the challenge!
I've been a blogger for many years, but only been taking part in the AtoZ Challenge for the second year. Sometimes, it's not easy to comment on a topic we're not familiar with. When I encounter such a blog, rather than just make a quick exit, I like to leave a short comment just to say hello and that I'm stopping by from the challenge. I find even that short comment goes a long way with most bloggers (just a suggestion). I'm popping over today from the Road Trip. ;-)

  9. Hi, stopping by from the A to Z Road Trip! I like your theme, I enjoy opening my dictionary app just to see the word of the day, so I may have to go back through some of your posts :) I am new to the blogging community, so commenting is a foreign and awkward subject for me as well, and like you I am trying to work on improving. Congrats on finishing the challenge!
