P is for Panic At the Disco!

Yup, that's right.  How random is that?  Probably not very as I think M was probably about a band as well but I wrote this one first because it amused me.  I like to be amused.  <giggles>  Panic at the Disco is a Band that highly amuses me.  Just the name alone is a source of hours of amusement.  (small minds)
I will admit, if I hadn't seen them live first I probably wouldn't like their music all that much it's more of an acquired taste than an OMG I loved them right away kind of thing.  (awesome live though)   I am a big fan of their lyrics though.  There is a line in this song that really resonates with me:


The lyrics are "Just for the record, the weather today is slightly sarcastic with a good chance of: A. Indifference or B. Disinterest in what the critics say."  It's how I feel most days if you know what I mean.

The other song that I really love from them is The Ballad of Mona Lisa.  I don't know why, I just find it really catchy.

Making Mac and Cheese

One of my favorite vegetables is butternut squash so when Chatelaine  posted this yummy looking recipe  for mac and cheese brimming with squash I immediately pinned it to make at a later time.  Now, before Pinterest  I am willing to admit, recipes got saved in my e-mail, but they never got made.  They just got lost in the shuffle; now they get neatly organized and displayed where I can go through them on a regular basis.  More importantly than that I can try them.   This recipe worked out well for me, I thought the cheese and squash tasted great together, the kids however did not agree.  They like their squash on the side, where they can control how much they ingest.  Next time I will definitely use less breadcrumbs though.

Spooktacular Giveaway Hop

When I was much younger than I am now, I loved nothing more that a good "spooky" story.  I spent many nights laying up in bed reading books that were designed to make your skin crawl and leave you with goose bumps. My personal favourite author for Young Adult Thrillers was and probably still is Christopher Pike.  Twenty years after reading his books some of them still stand out in my mind in perfect clarity.  The top one would be Remember Me. Something about Shari's story struck a chord with me that has echoed through the last twenty years, as any good book should I suppose. Sadly when I was a teenager I didn't hold on to as many books as I do now so I spend a lot of time hunting to replace the ones I really wish I had kept. (Sweet Valley High anyone?)
