S is for Shoes

Okay, so here is my confession...shoes have got to be one of if not the biggest addiction I have.  It's horrible.  I own sooo many pairs of shoes.  And I can easily justify buying a new pair, I don't even break a sweat any more. 

Boots and sandals are my biggest weaknesses.  High heels of course (the higher the better) I actually feel uncomfortable in flats.  Not to mention short.  I always know something is off with me when I don't feel like shoe shopping.  That is my internal gauge.

All of the shoes pictured above are from Sinister Soles which is an online shoe store.  I don't get quite the same thrill from buying shoes online (but that doesn't stop me)

    Sinister Soles is like a crack addiction to me . . . . and they even have them in my size. sigh!

    I never knew how many women loved to shoe shop until I took my sabbatical here in the Philippines. I was at a mall a couple of weeks ago and counted 22 shoe stores on one level. It is utterly amazing!

    If you open my fiance's collection you need to be careful because a gazillion shoes will be there like a pirate's loot.

    Banned complain !! Complaining only causes life and mind become more severe. Enjoy the rhythm of the problems faced. No matter ga life, not a problem not learn, so enjoy it :)

Making Mac and Cheese

One of my favorite vegetables is butternut squash so when Chatelaine  posted this yummy looking recipe  for mac and cheese brimming with squash I immediately pinned it to make at a later time.  Now, before Pinterest  I am willing to admit, recipes got saved in my e-mail, but they never got made.  They just got lost in the shuffle; now they get neatly organized and displayed where I can go through them on a regular basis.  More importantly than that I can try them.   This recipe worked out well for me, I thought the cheese and squash tasted great together, the kids however did not agree.  They like their squash on the side, where they can control how much they ingest.  Next time I will definitely use less breadcrumbs though.

Spooktacular Giveaway Hop

When I was much younger than I am now, I loved nothing more that a good "spooky" story.  I spent many nights laying up in bed reading books that were designed to make your skin crawl and leave you with goose bumps. My personal favourite author for Young Adult Thrillers was and probably still is Christopher Pike.  Twenty years after reading his books some of them still stand out in my mind in perfect clarity.  The top one would be Remember Me. Something about Shari's story struck a chord with me that has echoed through the last twenty years, as any good book should I suppose. Sadly when I was a teenager I didn't hold on to as many books as I do now so I spend a lot of time hunting to replace the ones I really wish I had kept. (Sweet Valley High anyone?)
